Netanyahu Vows Strong Response as Israel Prioritizes Hamas Elimination

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a resolute statement on Monday, declaring, “This enemy wanted war, and this is what they will get.” He acknowledged that challenging days lie ahead for the nation.

Israel’s Ambassador emphasized the urgency of neutralizing Hamas, especially after the militant group issued threats involving hostages. He emphasized the need to target key locations, explaining that these sites might contain weapons or high-ranking Hamas figures.

Access to medical care in Gaza has become increasingly complicated due to Israel’s power cuts in the region. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that services at the only operational hospital in Gaza’s Beit Hanoun neighborhood had to be suspended due to continuous Israeli airstrikes. The ministry also revealed that nine ambulances had been targeted since Saturday.

Most of the patients arriving at Gaza’s hospitals have suffered severe injuries, including second- and third-degree burns, amputations, and shrapnel wounds, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qidra. He attributed these injuries to Israeli strikes on residential areas, particularly affecting women and children.

The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported that its emergency shelters in Gaza are nearly at full capacity, providing refuge to over 137,000 people seeking shelter from Israeli airstrikes. Additionally, one UN school housing displaced families was hit by an airstrike, although the exact number of casualties is unknown.
